History of this car: Built by Barry Levan- master mechanic at Nick Ciliberti Motors which was a VW Dealership located Here in Reading, PA  until December of 1969 and then became Dick Horrigan VW from January 1970 onwards! Barry bought the "new" 1966 Fiberfab Azteca body in 1969. It was built in the basement of the VW Dealership located at 1211 Lancaster Ave, Reading, PA  (which is now Glass Auto Collision) from 1969-1972. This was built on a 1972 VW Beetle chassis (#31122365883) with an original 1968 low mileage Type III fuel injected 1600cc "pancake" engine (#U0020647). This car was finished and titled in PA in 1972. Barry drove the Azteca on the street and also raced autocross events during the summer in the 70's and 80's. In 2014 Barry's widow sold the car to the next owner. This car comes with the original AZTECA PA license plate and has a custom Euro plate. Have Fiberfab files and historical documents which are included. 2nd owner completed the following: NOS brake rotors (VW) and brake calipers (German ATE), new front wheel bearings (German FAG), new rear wheel cylinders, new ignition points and distributor cap (German Bosch), Bosch spark plugs German W175T1, flushed fuel tank, NOS Bosch fuel injection pump, NOS German Bosch fuel injectors, New German Bosch fuel filter, non ethanol fuel always used, NOS steering damper (German BOGE), New Vredestein Sprint 185/70 x 15 tires, rear hood stabilizer prop, new TriMil ceramic coated exhaust.
